Schedule of Events
Day #1 Grand Canyon, Paute forest, Mesquite, NV (90% dirt)
A loop: Down to the Arizona Strip then loop through the Paute mountains with views of the Grand Canyon. Lunch/gas in Mesquite Nevada at mile 135 then return through the forest. 202 miles, 19,000 feet of climbing
B loop: Down to the Arizona strip then straight south to the Grand Canyon overlook. Break for lunch then backtrack to Santa Clara. Simple 2 track the whole way, 178 miles, 10,000 feet of climbing. No gas stop/services till mile 166.
Day #2 Caliente, NV Loop (95% dirt)
A loop: Starts off with a trip over Utah hill; panoramic views for over 100 miles. Drop down and stop in Caliente for lunch/gas at mile 94. After lunch, a big loop north and drop down to Gunlock reservoir before returning to Santa Clara. 207 miles, 20,000 feet of climbing.
B loop: Out and back to Caliente via Motoque road. Small rivers, forest, ranchland and open desert. Nice 2 track, no technical sections. Gas/food at 77 miles in Caliente. 154 miles, 14,000 feet of climbing.
Saturday night: Group dinner at Hidden springs, silent auction and TONS of raffle prizes
Day #3 Zion National Park, Utah (50% dirt)
All riders; Mellow recovery day, out and back. Depart Santa Clara and traverse Snow Canyon state park. Follow 2 track along Pine Mountain and pop out at the base of Zion. First gas/food at mile 35, multiple along the way. Around 50% paved country road, 50% mellow 2 track. Forest, river crossings, stunning red rock and then a trip down Zion canyon. 147 miles, 12,000 feet of climbing
